Brief, to the point, entertaining. gnooze seems to have all the right ingredients to cater to an increasingly time-constrained society with a quickly shrinking attention span.

Hosted by a very bubbly Marta Costello, each episode features a 'fun take on the top three stories of the day in about three minutes'. That is to say a brief announcement of the headline followed by a humourous impersonation of the subject.

WhiteVoid:The Possibilities of PV3D

WhiteVoid, a design studio in Berlin has a cool site running on PaperVision3D. For the uninitiated, PV3D is an open source 3D engine running on Flash. The effects are stunning and smooth, and with a click you can switch to full screen, which further enhances the experience.

Most Expensive License Plate Ever - $14.3 Mil.

A businessman named Saeed Abdul Ghafour Khouri forked up a cool $14.3 million at an auction for a local (UAE) license plate labeled "1". Another plate numbered "5" went for $6.8 million.

Question is - WHY? WHY? WHY?

But we forget, it isn't such a big deal if you're drowning in cash. Right.

It works like this: A normal plate consists of 5 random numbers, and the price goes from there depending on the amount of digits and the combination. So naturally, "1" is the most prestigious. Combinations that match a car's model number like 911 (Porche 911), will command a premium too.

Money quote from the auction house: "Our job at Emirates Auction is to make an expensive car without a prestigious license plate worth nothing"
